A plural noun means that there is MORE THAN 1 of something.
You can add
-s
-es (add to the end of words that end in sh, ch, s, x, or sound like s)
-ies (add to words that end in y. You drop the y and add ies)
to the end of nouns to make them mean more than 1.
There are some plural nouns that are irregular, meaning their spelling is entirely changed.
Example: woman = women foot = feet
deer = deer fungus = fungi
person = people
