Friend,

As I type this email, Big Government is watching. The IRS. The NSA. HHS. TSA. The list goes on and on.

Under President Obama's authoritarian leadership, our government has grown from a government of the people and for the people, into a Big Brother, nanny-state Leviathan leaving American citizens to worry if and WHEN they will be targeted next.

Our government, under the disguise of the IRS and the NSA, has taken aim at conservative individuals and groups for partisan political purposes; something that is, quite frankly, un-American and inexcusable.

I'm former Congressman Bob Barr. You might remember me as the fighter who led the call for former President Bill Clinton's impeachment for his lies and obstruction of justice. You also may remember me as one of the strongest congressional defenders of the 2nd Amendment; or as a constant and consistent champion of lower taxes, less regulation, and smaller government.

Today I am running for Congress because Americans need a real fighter in Congress to demand a government we don't need to FEAR.

When I return to the Conress, I will once again fight day and night to demand accountability and punishment for any IRS staffers or government officials involved in persecuting individuals for their political or religious beliefs. Simply put- anyone who was aware of and approved of specifically targeting people for their political beliefs and speech must to be fired.

It comes as no surprise that the IRS targets people like you and me, we are the same ones who can see right through the smokescreens of this Administration, and who refuse to put up with it. You and I know that one of the reasons the IRS has become the behemoth it is today is because of our out-of-control spending and runaway deb.

My friend, our government has gotten too big to control, and unless we elect leaders - TRUE FIGHTERS -- who will demand limits on our government and who know how to get things done, then we will face even more destructive policies and financial ruin.

If you agree that our government has gone way too far - and that Congress needs a fighter to demand accountability and a limited government that we can trust, then I hope you will join my campaign today with an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more.

I am facing a tough election in Georgia. Many would like to see a compromiser elected. Someone to go along and get along without making any waves. That's not me. You can count on the fact that I will never stop fighting for what you and I believe in. I did it before and I will do it again. I know no other way. I am a strong constitutionalist, who believes the Founders had it right. Like you, I also am a citizen who wants to live in a nation governed by the rule of law - not men and women who believe themselves to be above the law.

It's critical we join together to stop Barack Obama and his radical Democrat allies' continual sacrifice of our liberty on the altar of big government and endless taxation. As a Member of Congress, I'll never hold back or quit when it comes to defending our values and personal freedoms I didn't before and I won't now.
